10th October NCODA ANALYSIS
USA: Southern California (Mammoth Region) and westward of there showing small to medium seismic signal.
USA: The "mouse ears" drawn west of San Francisco are showing small intermittent seismic stress signals along the Mendocino Fault Zone. I am concerned at this after seeing such a sudden and huge seismic signal along the entire Fault Zone on August 2nd this year. It's like watching a pot of water begin to boil bit by bit.
British Columbia: Small signal under Vancouver island and westward.
Japan: Hokkaido showing small seismic signal.
Taiwan: Showing small seismic signal.
Southern Philippines: Showing medium seismic signal.
East Timor: Showing small seismic signal.
Southern Micronesia: Showing medium seismic signal.
Australia: Yesterday's signal under Queensland region and offshore toward the Barrier Reef has disappeared as quickly as it appeared. However, the remnant of that signal has moved under the Loyalty islands. Because these thermal anomalies are shifting so rapidly on the northeast edge of the Australian-Indian tectonic plate, I believe the entire southwest region of the Ring of Fire is experiencing a buckling stress that has not been fully relieved. So, we can expect another LARGE earthquake in the region soon.
Ecuador: Offshore to the East in the Galapagos Islands showing medium seismic signal.
Panama/Columbian border: Small seismic signal.
Yemen/Oman region: Showing medium to strong seismic signal.
India: Along the Narmada River from Bombay inland showing a medium seismic signal.
Singapore/Sumatra: Along the equator between them showing medium seismic signal.
Today's major alert is for the Australian situation. For the last three days the entire region on the northeast section of the Australian plate has been grumbling. I think the next major event will be somewhere in this region. Secondly there are moving seismic stresses in the Indian Ocean community suggesting this area will be active for a few more days as well.
Generally, the environment for global mega-quakes is beginning to manifest.
Stan's analysis shows areas of possible earthquake or volcanic activity, or extreme storm conditions for the next 1 to 5 days. Pay particular attention to areas marked by white circles. The continuous yellow line denotes plate tectonic boundaries as well as the Ring of Fire. Go to the raw data map where it is easier to see the areas of concern. Go to Stan's earthquake map archives.
NEW FEATURE: The circles in varying shades of red are quake prediction zones Stan made from 1 to 4 days ago - with dark red being 1 day ago and the lightest red being 4 days ago. White circles are Stan's prediction zones for today. Tomorrow these white circles will become dark red and will get lighter as each day passes until they are removed.
DEYO NOTES: For earthquake maps, see the USGS "shake maps" (click anywhere on the global map for a closer view). For quakes USGS may not list, go to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center's map and scroll to the bottom of the page for a global view. You can compare these maps for the next 5 days to Stan's NCODA maps, to see the hits of his seismic target zones (white circles).
Earthquake lists can viewed at EMCS and at USGS.
Ecuador's Geophysics Institute at the National Polytechnic School, does not list quakes on a daily basis as does the USGS and other entities, but when there are significant events, they post them in PDFs.
Disclaimer: Some of the forecast stress areas can be in error up to 30% due to cloud cover variations and false signals from buoys.
